Profile

About

A researcher in signal processing and remote sensing, with doctoral training at Beijing Institute of Technology and Ghent University.

Xudong Zhao received a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology and an independent Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from Ghent University. He is currently a Teli Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Information and Electronics, Beijing Institute of Technology.

His work focuses on fractional-domain representations for multisource remote sensing, including hyperspectral–LiDAR fusion, cross-scene classification, oriented object detection, and robust perception. He has led national and postdoctoral research projects and published in IEEE Transactions and other leading venues.

Selected research outcomes have been applied to image matching and forest-monitoring tasks. His broader goal is to develop interpretable signal representations that improve robustness and generalization in complex sensing environments.

Focus

Research

New signal representations and learning methods for heterogeneous sensing data, with an emphasis on robustness, fusion, and cross-domain generalization.

ƒ

Fractional-domain signal processing

Fractional Fourier, Gabor, chirplet, and space-filling-curve representations for extracting structured information from complex signals.

Multisource remote sensing

Fusion and joint interpretation of hyperspectral, LiDAR, optical, and SAR data across sensors, scenes, and domains.
